Forster is a chocolate dapple in a long coat with two pale blue eyes — the combination people search hardest for and find least often. Her base is warm chocolate broken by lighter mottling across the back and shoulders, with tan points above the eyes and down her legs. Pit is a blue dapple. Blue is the dilute of black, which is why his coat reads soft grey-silver and his nose is slate rather than black. The dapple runs darker through his back and ears over a silver undercoat, with cream points above the eyes, on the muzzle, chest and feet. Long coat, with the chest fringe already coming in. Blue and long-coated in the same dog is one of the least common combinations in the breed.

Kio is a black piebald in a long coat — a largely white dog with black patching over the ears and crown and fine black ticking scattered through the white. Piebald is a recessive pattern, so both parents have to carry it for a puppy like this to appear, and despite the surface resemblance it is not the same thing as dapple. Pope is Pit’s littermate and the warmer of the two. Where Pit reads cool silver, Pope carries a soft cream and tan base with darker blue-grey dapple patching — rings around both eyes, a patch over one ear and a broader sweep across the shoulder. Grey nose, pale green eyes, and a long coat that is already thick and plush through the chest and ears. Blue is the dilution of black, and a blue dapple carrying this much tan is an uncommon thing to see.

What we currently have
Long-haired — nine of the ten puppies below carry the long coat. The long coat is recessive, so fewer appear per litter than smooth coats, which is why long-haired Dachshunds are the most requested and least available version of the breed.

Blue and silver — Pit, Pope and Guy. Blue is a dilution of black, which is why these dogs read as slate-grey rather than charcoal and carry grey noses instead of black.
Piebald — Kio, a largely white dog with black patching and ticking. Piebald is recessive and both parents must carry it.
Cream — Rain, the only smooth coat in the current group.
Chocolate — Forster, Karl, Lindy and Heist are all chocolate-based, which you can see in their liver-brown noses and lighter eyes.

Common questions
Is a doxie the same as a Dachshund?
Yes. Doxie, doxin, dachsie, sausage dog, wiener dog and weenie dog are all common names for the same breed. The spelling varies more than almost any breed name in English — you will see daschund, dachsund and dotson too. They all mean this dog.
Are these miniature or standard Dachshunds?
We breed miniatures. A miniature finishes at 11 pounds or under at twelve months, but no honest breeder can promise an exact adult weight at ten weeks. Parent weights are the only real predictor, and we will tell you ours. Our guide to miniature versus standard explains the difference properly.
Do you sell teacup Dachshunds?
No. Teacup is a marketing term, not a recognised size, and breeding deliberately undersized dogs selects for fragility. We do not use the word and we do not charge more for smaller.
Do you ship nationwide?
